Link Building- How To Increase Your Backlinks With Blogs

There are a number of ways in which you can get additional backlinks to your website.

1. Reciprocal Linking. This is where you link to another site that provides the same
service or product as you and they in turn have a link to your site on theirs.

2. Site Submissions. Submit links for your site to directories which allow free submissions, or if you can afford it, some paid directories. There are many sites which offer a service where you can submit your site details to numerous sites. Plus, if you want, you can always create your own directory of similar websites.

3. Blogging. This has now become an integral part of the internet, and is one of the most effective ways of linking.

You either have the choice of placing a few words of comments on to someone else’s blog, or you may want to link to them from your own blog. In fact, you will find that many blog owners will be happy
to link back to you.

However, it is important that you try to update your blog regularly and post interesting content to ensure that people will want to link back to you.

You can use free blog services to create some additional blogs of your own, and post on these blogs with links back to your main sites - BUT, don’t overdo it.

A few careful placed links will be better than blogs which are a mass of links that the search engines would then think are an attempt to manipulate search results.

Ezine Advertising for Success in Your Business Part I

Ezine is short for ‘electronic magazine’, and ezines tend to be very focused on a specific subject. You get golf ezines, interne marketing ezines and ezines that deal specifically with cats, sorry – cars! Or both, cats and cars. It does not matter. An ezine is an internet publication that is focused on a niche.

There are more ezines than there are niches. Have you ever thought how it great it would be to be able to advertise in a magazine that was targeted to your subject, and had an unlimited number of subscribers? Well, that’s what you can do with ezine advertising. You can have a wide-ranged audience for your advert that is targeted to your niche.

If you have decided to advertise in an ezine, first make sure it is the right ezine. Don’t just go by the name or description, but subscribe to it yourself. Read a couple of issues and make sure that your site fits in with its focus, and then think on what kind of advert would suit the style of the ezine. You must also make sure that it has enough subscribers to warrant the cost of your advert, because ezine ads are not free.

One thing about ezine advertising that you must keep in mind is that people who read ezines are interested in the subject of the ezines. People who read ezines about fishing are interested in fishing, and they will purchase stuff connected with fishing. If you have an ebook about fly fishing, they will buy it if that is their style of fishing. If you sell fishing rods, a fishing ezine is exactly the right place for your advert.

Unlike most other forms of advertising, you don’t have to do a lot to attract targeted visitors. Just think on it for a moment. They are already reading the ezine, so you don’t need to use keywords to attract them, since they are there already. They cannot miss your advert, since they are reading the ezine, and will see it as they read. They are reading a fishing ezine, so they are targeted to fishing, and you are offering a fishing related product that will benefit them. Your sales job is practically done for you.

Affiliate Revenue No, Go, Whoa, Know

Recently I’ve noticed an increase in the number of Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising links that direct visitors to sites that are wholly dedicated to the development of affiliate revenue. There is no online store on these sites; they are simply highly organized portals for online shopping with a grouping of affiliates based on the type of product you may be interested in purchasing.

These sites may include knowledge-based content with the end goal of directing you to one of their online partners to facilitate a purchase. If they can do this effectively it may mean a relatively hands free way to derive increased residual income.

Just Say “No”

If you develop a website like the one described make sure you only work with companies that provide a cookie-based system to track referrals for proper affiliate payment. If they can’t provide this you should consider a different firm.

Just Say “Go”

If you develop an autoresponder newsletter you will also want to make sure that any traffic derived from an email marketing campaign can also be tracked specifically for your affiliate revenue website. Most of the more reputable revenue sharing sites can make this happen for you so make sure to ask.

Just Say “Whoa”

Give your site visitors a reason to stick around. If you simply develop an affiliate revenue site as a means of deriving an addition to your income you may see a degree of activity without actually being as effective as you want to be. When you say, “Whoa” to your online visitors you are telling them stick around because they can find everything they need on your site. This means research into the products or services being offered, it means developing content for the website and it means only working with the most reputable firms available.

Just Say “Know”

This may seem redundant, but if you can leave your site visitor with quality information and multiple sources to purchase from you may find that a better informed consumer may come back to your affiliate website to investigate the products you helped them understand.

Affiliate revenue has proven useful in providing residual income to existing ecommerce websites, but it is branching out. Aggressive marketers are developing professional sites that thrive on affiliate revenue. These marketing experts are taking their web creations and marketing them heavily with an eye toward seeing these sites provide substantial income while refusing to look at these sites as a passive ‘set and forget’ ecommerce afterthought.

Husband & Wife Wills: Why Separate is Better

When a husband and wife are looking to create a Will that leaves their joint property to the surviving spouse and then their children (if any), most couples think they will be creating one document for their family.

And while they can choose that option, most legal experts suggests individual Wills for each spouse.

While some attorneys and Will authors create a single Will document for both husband and wife (often referred to as a “Combined Will” or “Reciprocal Will”), forward thinking legal advisers finds that the individual Last Will & Testament structure offers a better legal option.

With a Combined Will, when one spouse dies, the original Will must be submitted to the probate court. When that happens, the information contained in the Will is often made available to the public for inspection and review, which can create privacy issues for the entire family.

Further, the fact that the original Will is submitted to the probate court can create new issues should the other spouse die while the first estate is still being probated. Obtaining a copy of the original Combined Will for filing with the probate court for the “second to die” spouse could create difficulties, especially if the “second to die” spouse has moved his or her home to a jurisdiction different from the location where the first spouse’s Will is being probated.

Given these scenarios, utilizing separate, individual Wills for each spouse is preferred. The Will for each spouse can be written to mirror each other, so that the first spouse to die leaves his or her property to the surviving spouse and then to children, if any.

These separate and individual Wills accomplish the same goal as the Combined Will while eliminating a variety of probate issues.

Sometimes, it IS better to stand alone.

Automating a Business to Run on Autopilot Part III

Next, you will need to have a few emails programmed to be sent to your lists at set intervals. Write these first, and set the autoresponder to send them at specific times to specific lists. Then write your newsletters, sales letters or website sales pages, and add these to the emails in which you want them to appear. A sales page will appear in the form of a link, and the sales letter will be an email. Some prefer one or the other, though you can use both if you want to.

Once a customer has made the purchase, their details should be added to a ‘customer’ database, with a different database for each product so that know who has purchased what. The sales page or letter should include a payment link that takes them to your credit card processor. This should also include PayPal or a similar system if you do not like PayPal. Once payment has been made, the processor should allow you to write a thank you email which is sent to the customer along with the merchant’s receipt.

The payment link must also include a means of receiving or downloading the purchase, and all online payment merchants offer a means of doing this.

Finally, write a follow-up letter to be sent at a specific time after the sale, asking the customer if everything is OK. If not, your guarantee offer can also be automated so that payment is refunded with a covering email.

So, as you can see, automating a business to run on autopilot is not difficult if you have the right tools. Once it has been set up, all you have to do is keep building your lists, and resetting dates for sending the initial emails to them. The rest is automated, and you can go on vacation for a month, then return and check your bank account.

Everything will have been running smoothly, leaving you to spend your time setting up other businesses.

Email Marketing - The Timing and the Relevance

If you look hard enough you will find research on almost any given topic. For instance, were you aware that there are certain times when sending email marketing is probably a bad idea? There are also times when sending marketing emails makes perfect sense.

Monday and Friday – These two days are not as useful to email marketing as other days of the workweek. The primary reason is Monday is generally a time to get back into the swing of work, while Friday is a time to gear down. Your email is likely to be lost in the shuffle. Since most email marketing can be sent out on command this is something to consider when developing an email marketing campaign.

Saturday and Sunday – The weekend is generally throwaway days for email marketing for much the same reason as Monday and Friday. If someone is in the office on the weekend, the last thing they are interested in is marketing emails. If your email comes in over the weekend chances are pretty good your email marketing campaign will be subject to a readily used email purge without serious consideration.

It should be noted that you might find some receptivity to email marketing campaigns that are sent out to individual consumers late in the workweek or even early in the weekend. This is the primary difference between business-to-business email marketing and business-to-consumer marketing.

Tuesday through Thursday – These are the three days when all email marketing seems to have the greatest impact. Employees and business owners are fully entrenched in their workweek and the result is their minds may be better geared toward business decisions or consumer purchases.

Interestingly if you can send your emails out around either 9 am or 1 pm, response seems to be better than if you wait for either lunch or the end of the workday.

Essentially what we are seeing is if you can approach consumers and business contacts during the ‘trench’ part of the workweek, when their minds aren’t focused on either closing time or lunch you may stand a better chance at affecting a site visit and potential sale. You may even find fewer opt-out requests when you work within this simple time frame for email marketing.

Remember, no one likes junk mail and they don’t like emails that are thought of in terms of spam. Make sure your content is relevant to the topic the individual signed up for, make sure you can provide information or price reductions on products the customer may be interested in or has purchased in the past. Relevancy and timing are keys to acceptability in all email-marketing campaigns.

Automating a Business to Run on Autopilot Part II

Otherwise, a separate autoresponder such as AWeber or some other similar software will give you all that you need. Your payment merchant should be able to accept all major credit cards, and also include PayPal or a similar system. Again, there are plenty of these advertising on the internet.

You will have to write a number of emails that are sent out at each stage on your marketing process. First you have to build your list. I am not going to go through the list building procedure since that is another topic, but you will need to write a few emails that will be sent out by your autoresponder on certain triggers. The first is the message that informs visitors who fill in your opt-in form that they will have to confirm their registration by clicking the link in the email that should now be in their inbox. That message should appear on the visitors screen immediately after completing the form.

You also have to write that confirmation email, and have it sent to the prospects email address, as entered into the form, once it has been filled in. When the prospect clicks on the confirmation link two more things have to happen. Their details are entered into your list database, and they receive another email that provides them with a thank you, and any bonus items you promised them for their address.

You have now completed the registration system. The autoresponder will actually provide you with the form, and carry out most of the programming work such as linking the form details to your specified list, and sending out the emails, but you still have to write the emails.

Bottled Water Sales Soar

Bottled water, a multi-billion dollar industry, is growing rapidly. Today more people, approximately 68 percent of consumers, are drinking bottled water. Because of this, bottled water sales are increasing to the tune of nearly 10 percent per year. Americans consumed 8.25 billion gallons in 2006. On average, consumption increased by over 2 gallons per capita to 27.6 gallons.

Many consumers use bottled water thinking it is safer than tap water, which is not necessarily true. The truth is many bottled waters, approximately 25 percent, are nothing but tap water that has been processed and packaged.

Many bottled waters are high in quality, and yet, bottled water may not be the safer alternative. Fact is, bottled water is regulated by the Food and Drug Administration. The FDA regulations are similar to the Environmental Protection Agency regulations on tap water. Currently, the EPA only requires testing for 114 contaminants of the 260 contaminants detected in tap water. The regulations on bottled water are lacking in many respects. For instance, bottled water which is processed and sold in the same state may not be regulated at all.

The Natural Resources Defense Council recently completed a study on 1000 bottled waters and found that 17 percent exceeded unenforceable sanitary guidelines for microbiological purity. They also concluded that most bottled water is no cleaner or safer than tap water. Some bottled waters were found to contain chemical or biological contaminants. 40 percent of the water tested was found to be of good quality.

The source of bottled water comes into question also. Do not be misled by the advertising. The question is - is it really from a sparkling mountain stream, a local tap water supplier, or from a well? Read the fine print on the label. If it states “from a municipal source” or “from a community water system” the source is derived from tap water. Just because the label has a picture of a mountain stream does not mean that was the source.

For example, the NRDC located a bottled water company which produces bottled water from a well located in the middle of an industrial warehouse facility and next to a state-designated industrial waste site in Millis, Massachusetts. The bottled water produced from this facility was found to be contaminated with industrial solvents including trichloroethylene at levels above EPA and FDA standards. At least one of the brands produced there displayed labels with a picture of a beautiful lake and mountain scene.

One thing for sure is, no matter what the source, if water is not properly treated for bacteria and filtered for contaminants it is not safe to drink.

Bottled water is expensive, averaging approximately $2.85 per gallon. The smaller the bottle, the more expensive it is by volume.

More money is spent on packaging, labeling, and marketing of bottled water than the production itself.

Point of use water filters are a more economical, cost effective, and convenient choice. High quality water filters can reduce many contaminants of health concern to a high degree, are more convenient, and produce better drinking water than most bottled water.

Sports in Blackpool

Whether you’re the sporty type who loves to compete or are more of a spectator who enjoys the vicarious thrill of watching competition, Blackpool has a lot to offer you.

Blackpool has many sports centres that promote sports like football, darts, cricket or badminton as well as a few football pitches, junior teams and a Coca-Cola League Division side.

The Blackpool Sports Centre on West Drive is one of the town’s most popular sports venues. It provides facilities for football, volleyball, basketball, badminton, indoor hockey, wall climbing, martial arts and netball.

Blackpool has two public swimming pools for those who prefer to do their exercising in the water. These are the Lido Pool on Lytham Road and the Moor Park Swimming Pool on Bristol Avenue. On the other hand, if it’s a weekend and you have the kids in tow, perhaps the venue of choice for water fun is the Sandcastle Waterworld on the Promenade. It has a number of popular water slides and a wave pool.

With an eight-rink bowling stadium, the Blackpool Borough Indoor Bowls Centre on Larkhill Street is the ideal venue for crown green bowling, whether it’s for competitive team matches or laid-back family fun.

If golf is your game, Blackpool has a number of top-flight golf clubs that are certain to capture your fancy. The two most popular ones are the North Shore Golf Club and the Fleetwood Golf Club, both 18-hole 71 par courses. Casual golfers will enjoy the 18-hole Stanley Park Golf Course.

Blackpool also has its own elite cricket team that competes in the Northern Premier League against the likes of Fleetwood, Barrow and Lancaster. That’s the Blackpool Cricket Club which is based at Stanley Park.

Darts is also a major sport in Blackpool, especially since the town hosts the prestigious Stan James World Matchplay Darts Championship every year. Held traditionally at the Empress Ballroom in the Winter Gardens, the competition brings together the 32 top professional dart players in the world who vie for over £100,000 in prize money. The Stan James World Matchplay Darts Championship draws in huge crowds to the Empress Ballroom and is televised live to countless people worldwide via satellite.

Of course, one of the most popular games in town is football. The Blackpool Sports Centre is a favourite venue for friendly five-a-side games. The venue has a sports arena and an all-weather outdoor pitch. Meanwhile, for a casual kick-about with a few friends, Blackpool boasts more than 80 public parks that are perfect for just such an occasion.

One of the best parks is Stanley Park, one of the most beautiful parks in Blackpool which stretches to over 256 acres of scenic parkland. Not only does it have lots of space for football, it also has its own cafe where players can grab a quick drink to freshen up.

Anyone can see that the spirit of sport is alive and well in Blackpool every time the city’s professional football team, the Blackpool FC aka the Tangerines, compete, with throngs of boisterous fans coming out to cheer them on.

The Tangerines were formed in 1887 but did not get to play in the football league until 1903. They toiled in the second division for many years, during which time the club was often saddled by debts while only a few loyal supporters cheered them on.

Blackpool FC finally got its big break in 1929-30 when it was promoted to Division One as champions. However, they would only stay there for three brief seasons before falling back to the second division. Their next breakthrough would come in 1936-37 when they would once again climb up to Division One. This time, they would remain among the top tier teams for the next 25 years.

After World War II, Blackpool FC would sign sensational striker Stanley Matthews, nicknamed The Wizard of the Dribble for his skill at soccer, and he would lead them to great prosperity and success. The number of Blackpool FC supporters ballooned during this time.

Blackpool FC would reach the pinnacle of their success in 1953 when they won the FA Cup final at Wembley via a 4-3 victory over Bolton Wanderers. What made the win even more thrilling is that the Tangerines had to climb back from 0-2 down to win the cup. Since then, that game has been immortalized as the “Matthews Final” in honor of Stanley Matthews’ role in the match.

With Matthews as the Tangerines’ driving force, Blackpool FC became of the most popular teams in the league, both for home and away games. In fact, for three seasons - 1950-51, 1954-55 and 1955-56 - the Tangerines were the most popular visiting team in the UK. About 40,000 fans on average watched their games during that time.

Unfortunately, in 1966-67, Blackpool was relegated back to Division Two and the period that followed has been marked by highs and lows. The team now plays in the Coca Cola League Division One.

Romance in Blackpool

Blackpool isn’t renowned for romance, but a seaside resort town with plenty of amazing parks, hotels, restaurants, museums and nightlife has everything any Romeo needs to fan the amorous flames of his Juliet.

The first thing to determine is where to stay and three romantic venues quickly spring to mind: the Imperial Hotel, the Hilton Hotel and the De Vere Heron’s Reach Hotel, which is regarded by many as the most stylish hotel in Blackpool.

The Imperial Hotel has 173 exquisite bedrooms and 10 elegantly furnished suites. It has a health and leisure club that boasts of a gym, sauna, spa bath, steam room, solarium and swimming pool. Moreover, the Imperial Hotel is strategically located to serve as an ideal base that provides easy access to Blackpool’s myriad attractions.

The Hilton, also located on the North Promenade like the Imperial Hotel, has beautiful and features en suite bathroom, telephone, satellite TV, hair dryer and tea and coffee making facilities. The hotel also offers family rooms, function rooms and stylish suites that offer a spectacular seafront view. The Hilton has its own restaurant and cocktail bar, a sauna and steamroom, an indoor heated swimming pool and a nightclub. Parking at the hotel car park is free.

The De Vere Herons’ Reach Hotel is a bit out of town but offers enough amenities to make the trip worthwhile, including its very own 18-hole golf course and a floodlit driving range with 18 bays. It also has a sauna and spa bath, steam room and swimming pool. A short 10-minute drive from the beach, the Reach Hotel sits on 236 acres of sprawling coast countryside and boasts of some of the most luxurious accommodations around.

Once the hotel is settled, it’s time to roam the town in search of Blackpool’s most romantic sights.

The Grundy Art Gallery, located right next to the Blackpool Central Library on Queen Street, is widely regarded as one of the premiere small galleries in the United Kingdom. It is also one of the most romantic places in town. Built in 1911 as a multi-purpose building, the Grundy Art Gallery offers a tranquil haven of peace and serenity to those who wish to escape Blackpool’s hustle and bustle even for a moment.

The gallery is named in honor of the Grundy brothers, Cuthbart and John, two avid art collectors who donated their impressive collection of paintings to the town of Blackpool in 1903. Hence, the Grundy Art Gallery was formed. Today, the gallery boasts of a huge collection of oils and watercolors, including classic and modern British paintings, Oriental ivories and prints.

Over the years, the gallery’s collection has grown considerably and now includes quite a number of ceramics and old photographs depicting Blackpool’s rich history. Throughout the year, many of the foremost local and national artists stage special exhibitions to the delight of visitors.

Over at South Promenade is another permanent display of contemporary art (and another romantic venue) dubbed as the Great Promenade Show. Some of the leading artists and designers in the UK pooled their talents to make this year-round outdoor exhibit a hit by contributing noteworthy pieces of sculptures, art pieces and even lighting. At night, the exhibit becomes an inspirational sight, especially when the light hits certain angles and creates new dimensions. This is when lovers usually walk down the Promenade, arm in arm, or sit snugly close together watching the display.

Of course all lovers should also make a trip to the Blackpool Tower, the main attraction of this famous seaside resort, especially given its superb beachfront location. During the traditional illuminations each year, the tower shines magnificently and offers a superb vantage point for enjoying the colorful lighting displays that adorn the town and seafront. The Tower complex also boasts of the renowned Tower Ballroom and the world famous ‘Mighty Wurlitzer Organ’ whose melodious notes can still be heard during the holiday seasons.

There are two lifts that lead to the apex of the Blackpool Tower where there are four viewing platforms that provide visitors with a breath-taking view of Blackpool and surrounding areas such as North Wales, Cumbria, Lancashire, Winter Hill and the Isle of Man. There were actually 14 platforms in all, including enclosed ones, when the tower was rebuilt in 1900. Just imagine looking in awe at the skyline and sharing this wonderful sight with someone special or walking hand-in-hand with your significant other along the glass-floored Walk of Faith.

If you and your partner enjoy doing activities together, head to South Shore to Blackpool Pleasure Beach, an amusement park that was inaugurated in 1896. About six million visitors come to Pleasure Beach, Blackpool each year, drawn by its wide array of rides, ranging from traditional wooden and small family rides to modern steel roller coasters and highly-advanced thrillers as well as some rides that have been around for generations but are still in good working order. In recent years, Pleasure Beach, Blackpool has also installed on-going ice shows and a casino.
